Anna Stichbury was born in Wellington in 1974. She attended Wellington School of Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Design majoring in Textiles. Still living in Wellington Anna paints full time from her home studio. With a love of travel Anna often heads overseas, favouring places rich in culture, colour and inspiration. Time spent in places like Mexico, Sri Lanka and Vietnam etc are a great source of inspiration for Anna, as is the natural environment here in New Zealand.

Anna's paintings are bold and feature intense hues. Her background in Textiles and love of colour and texture are evident in her work. These factors combine to create rich, vibrant paintings that have an immediate impact for the viewer.

Anna has had solo exhibitions throughout New Zealand and in Australia. She has work in private and corporate collections in New Zealand and as far a field as New York, France and the UK etc.

Anna was recently awarded the honour of 'Elected Artist Member 2003' at The NZ Academy of Fine Arts. If you have any questions about upcoming shows or her paintings Anna would love to hear from you.
